About Athlete

Thank you for reading this personal statement.

Soccer has always been a massive part of my life. I was born in Scotland, moved to Ontario at a young age, and have been playing organized soccer since the age of 4. I moved into an Advanced Development Program at 7 and OPDL (the Ontario Provincial Development League) at 12.

For the past 5 years, I’ve captained my team, winning 11 tournaments, including 3 in the USA.

I am currently playing League 1 U19, at 16 years old. In August 2023 I made my League 1 Premier (open age, 2nd Division of Canadian soccer) debut.

In the past year, I have been fortunate enough to have won the League 1 U19 West Division, The Woodbridge Champions League Showcase (U19 Top Division), The Phoenix Cup (U17 Top Division), and had an undefeated Season winning the U17 OPDL Premier Division and post-Season Charity Shield.

I was a starting Centre Back on the U17 and U16 Ontario Provincial Xcel Team (Team Ontario), and played in the U16 MLS Next Dallas Showcase with Toronto FC Academy.

In May 2023 FTF published their Top 100 2024 Graduates, where I ranked #28 in Canada. At FTF’s invitation only combine for the Top 60 ranked players in Canada, I was a Centre Back All-Star in the first 11 and Overall Defensive MVP.

As I pursue College I am interested in the fields of Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, and Legal Studies, and I am looking for an opportunity where I can thrive on and off the pitch.

Personal Best

5m 46s mile run time
13m 02s 2 mile run time

What makes you different?

I think 3 things:
- I love the game, I am a student of the game, I try to read and anticipate the game when I play
- In the last 5 years I have played 2 years as a Centre Midfielder, 3 years (and most recently) as a Centre Back as my primary position. I have played all positions in a back 4 and a back 3. I am flexible and adaptable to the team and Coach's needs
- I am a ball playing Centre Back, and have a wide range of passing which can break lines, switch the play, and create space

Why do you want to compete in college?

I want to experience a higher level of soccer, which will stretch and test me. By playing with better players, I believe I will become a better player.

College Goals?

My goal is to attend college on a scholarship and be part of an NCAA varsity team. I want to be in a team, with a Coaching staff, and with a College where I can thrive on the pitch and academically.

Anything else we should know?

I am an introvert off the pitch, but an extrovert on the pitch. I am quiet, but like to lead the back line vocally. My approach is also to lead by doing, by trying to model what is required to compete and win.
