I threw a baseball before I made my first step. My dad was a baseball player, he was a catcher in the Yenkees’ minor league system before coming to play here Italy and he used to bring me to the field every time he could; basically I’ve been playing baseball my whole life. I started my career as a shortstop but I tried to play almost every position because I wanted to see the game from every view. At the end I chose to play shortstop because it was the most exciting role even though I kept pitching and every now and then I was in the outfield. However 3 years ago something changed and I started to enjoy pitching more and more. Striking players out is one of the most satisfying thing for me and that’s why at the end I chose to become a pitcher. The transactions wasn’t quite simple indeed I struggled a lot the first year, but I kept training and the results came the next season. I went from a 5.79 ERA in 2018 to a 2.32 ERA in 2019 and a 2.35 ERA last season (combined from U18 and C division). My improvements haven’t gone unnoticed and in 2020 I was one of the candidates for the role of starting pitcher of the Italian baseball team for the U18 european championship but I didn’t got my chance to play because of covid.
