About Athlete

Believing in the next step

Following NCAA guidelines Keegan’s GPA would meet U.S. requirements.

Highest achievement was playing for the Golden Lions U/19 Currie Cup team. We won the Currie Cup that year.

I played for the lions throughout my schooling career which consisted of the u/18 and u/19 Puk week teams. U/16 I was out due to injury.

I played for my schools 1st XV as well.

I was awarded with MVP, best backline player as well as a captaincy role and I was head of sport for my school, this is a leadership position.

For my university I played for the young gun U/21 team when I was just 18. I received the player of the year award for UJ in 2017.

What makes you different?

My leadership skills.

Awareness of the field, space, opposition and opportunities.

My ability to kick out of hand as well as for poles.

My ability to play my teammates into space.

My ability to direct play and communicate well, especially under pressure.

Why do you want to compete in college?

I’m looking for the right step in the right direction. I feel I can find that whilst playing for college. It provides the exposure I’m looking for in order to pursue my dreams. It gives me all the experience I need in order to understand the sport even better. I’ve always been a competitive athlete by nature and I need this to earn my way to a higher league. I’m passionate about rugby and believe I have much more to contribute to the sport.

College Goals?

I want to further my academic progress, get my degree and improve on my ultimate goal which is to be a well rounded individual. I want to make the best of every opportunity afforded to me. Family and community are of the utmost importance to me as well as my faith in God. Family is also my brotherhood on and off the field. I want to be successful in both rugby and academics and contribute to a successful community.

Anything else we should know?

I’m an avid outdoorsman. Love cars, bikes and food!
