About Athlete

I started playing basketball when I was 10 years old and my love for the game grows every single day. Basketball has given me countless opportunities and life experiences and I don’t know who I’d be without this sport. I want to play for the NCAA because college allows me to play at the highest level while earning a good degree.

Additional sporting info

I practiced judo for 7 years, at Ginasio Clube Portugues, having reached blue/green belt (3rd kyu) and having won 18 competitions.

What makes you different?

I’ve left my home (Lisbon) to join the MVP Academy in Rio Maior, leaving my family and friends in order to play basketball at a higher level and achieve my goals. I practice every day before school, at least twice a week during lunch time and 4 times a week after classes, while maintaining high grades. This makes me more prepared to leave my country, in order to be a student-athlete in the USA and give everything I have.

I have dual nationality (Portuguese and British) and, therefore, I am bilingual in Portuguese and English.

Why do you want to compete in college?

The highest level of basketball is in the USA. I’ve always loved college basketball and I have watched it a lot. I want to be the best basketball player I possibly can, so I can become a pro, while getting a good degree. The best place for that is the NCAA.

College Goals?

Basketball-wise, I want to become the best player I can be so I can continue playing after my collegiate career. I also want to help my team win.

Academically, I want to achieve a high GPA and, hopefully, graduate with honors.

Anything else we should know?

I earned the School Award for Academic Excellence every year, from 5th grade until 10th grade. I studied violin for 10 years and got a certificate for “Curso Basico de Musica”. I had the chance to play in major venues in Portugal and also internationally (Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia).
