College Baseball

American football is without a doubt the most popular college sport among Americans in terms of spectator numbers, names such as Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes are all American ex-collegiate football players. Did you know that the NFL pulls the majority of its professional athletes from the collegiate circuit?

A football scholarship that perfectly fits your needs will bring you one step closer to your professional football dream. In the FBS, which is where all the top teams play, teams are allowed to award 85 scholarships, representing 70% of the total team, every year. In the FCS, which is the equivalent of a Division 1b, teams can allocate up to 63 scholarships every year. Division 2 teams still have 36 scholarships available to distribute between their players. So you can see that there are plenty of scholarships available if you have the right skills level or the right attributes that a coach is looking for.

The thing about colleges in the US is that training sessions fit around the student-athlete’s schedule. This creates the perfect environment for students to excel in their sport with world-class facilities and equipment. In addition, it encourages and pushes them to excel academically. These programs are designed so that students can succeed in both, providing they have the right mentality and drive to do so. Does this sound like something you would like to be a part of? How to get a Football Scholarship

Athletes must show that they have the ability to make an immediate, positive impact at their position or they need to demonstrate that they have the potential to develop into a key player. This is why finding the right division level athletically is so important. A recruit might technically qualify to play at a D1 school, but they could be a more impactful athlete at a D2 or NAIA school. So, they would likely get more money—and more playing time—at the D2 or NAIA levels, as they will be able to make a bigger impact on those teams. Layered on top of athletic ability, recruits need to be academically eligible to compete at the school.

Am I eligible?

Having a high enough GPA or SAT/ACT score is the passport to obtaining an American football scholarship. Achievements on the football field will count for nothing if you do not have the right academic grades. ASM Scholarships team has the ability and the experience to steer you through the qualification process. It is an integral element of our approach to carefully evaluate and fulfill your personal potential by tailoring a college program to improve your grades if necessary.

How the American Football season works:

The American Football season culminates with a series of final games known as the “Bowl Games”, which can best be described as the playoffs for college football. The participants in the Bowl Games are ratified by a select committee, who select the teams based on their record and the strength of their schedule. The four best regular-season teams are invited to take part in the newly formed college football semi-final games. The final of this tournament is the National Championship Game, the winner of which is crowned the NCAA Division 1 National Champion.

NCAA American Football rules:

Because of the mandatory NFL rule, that a player needs to compete in college for three years before he can enter the NFL draft, all great NFL players have come through the college system. This guarantees very exciting games to watch every year and keeps the level of play very high year in and year out. However, less experienced players should not be afraid to go to America to play American Football, as more and more coaches try to find the “diamond in the rough“, by looking at a player’s potential and ability to improve rather than just simply at the statistics.

What is the difference between FCS and FBS?

A University classified in Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) shall meet all Division I and Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) is known as Division I-AA

The main difference between FBS and FCS is how a final winner is determined. The FBS has the four-team College Football Playoff while the FCS hosts a 24-team playoff for the NCAA D-I Football Championship. FCS teams can only have 63 players on scholarship, while FBS football teams can have 85.
